\r\n PACE Therapeutic Parenting Model <\/h3>\r\n
The Langdale adopts the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to provide a relational, trauma-informed approach to parenting and care. \n\nRooted in attachment theory, PACE creates a nurturing environment in which children feel safe enough to build trust, process trauma, and grow emotionally.\n\nCore principles include:\n\n\n\nPlayfulness \u2013 Building joyful, non-threatening connections\n\nAcceptance \u2013 Valuing the child\u2019s inner world without judgement\n\nCuriosity \u2013 Seeking to understand the \u2018why\u2019 behind behaviours\n\nEmpathy \u2013 Validating emotions and providing compassionate support.\n\nPACE informs all aspects of care delivery from key working sessions to daily routines and is critical to creating a secure base from which children can heal and thrive.\n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT <\/h3>\r\n
The Langdale integrates DBT-informed practice to help children and young people who experience difficulty managing intense emotions or distressing thoughts and behaviours. This includes young people with:\n\n\n\u2022\tEmotional dysregulation\n\u2022\tSelf-harming behaviours\n\u2022\tTrauma backgrounds\n\u2022\tDepression, anxiety, ADHD, and other complex presentations\n\n\nDBT combines Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) strategies. Our staff team undergo accredited training in \u201cDialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Training for Children & Adolescents: Rescuing the Dysregulated Child,\u201d enabling them to implement DBT principles in the home setting.\n\nThe DBT modules embedded in our practice include:\n\n1.\tMindfulness \u2013 Building self-awareness and emotional regulation\n\n2.\tDistress Tolerance \u2013 Managing crises safely and effectively\n\n3.\tEmotion Regulation \u2013 Reducing emotional vulnerability and improving resilience\n\n4.\tInterpersonal Effectiveness \u2013 Promoting healthy relationships and assertive communication\n\nThis structured approach fosters a supportive, consistent, and emotionally intelligent care environment, empowering young people to develop healthier coping strategies and stronger interpersonal skills.\n\n<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
